Design Manager

As the Design Manager at Vye, you will be responsible for leading the design team, pushing the limits on our creative outputs, and keeping our clients' brand work consistent, accessible, and exciting.

We’re looking for someone with experience in elevating existing client brands and advising new brand opportunities with vision, strategy and creativity, from ideation to execution. You're a good fit if you have a proven track record — and stunning portfolio — to demonstrate success in graphic design, as well as communication, collaboration, attention to detail and project follow-through. You’re not afraid to take risks and think big to create stunning visual experiences.

This is a department leadership role, ideal for someone with 7+ years of experience, preferably in an agency setting. Management/leadership experience is required.

\ Responsibilities

  • Execute an array of creative assets including print materials, web ads, organic social posts, emails, infographics, displays, eBooks, digital checklists, full websites, landing pages, and other digital assets.
  • Establish brand standards, thinking through every aspect from accessibility to digital color palettes.
  • Brainstorm bold creative concepts and ideas that push the limit on existing brand work  — and bring them to life in collaboration with team members.
  • Coordinate production requirements and provide final files in various formats.
  • Manage time and budget constraints across all projects.
  • Stay current on design and technology trends.
  • Source the perfect image (whether stock or client-provided) and provide direction to photographers. Photo editing as needed.
  • Assist with forecasting project timelines, budgets and other resources needed to complete a variety of design and creative projects. 

 \ Managerial Responsibilities

  • Push the work of the design team, providing mentorship that encourages and excites while keeping client requests and expectations in mind.
  • Hire team members, assess performance, and assign clients based on team strengths and growth areas.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Conduct weekly 1:1s.
  • Work with other managers to improve processes and set the larger team up for success.

\ Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in design, with a strong focus on web interfaces and UX/UI.
  • Demonstrated experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and mentoring design teams.
  • Expert knowledge of design principles, user-centered design, and web accessibility standards.
  • Proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills; ability to confidently and clearly present work to clients, as well as give and receive feedback.
  • HubSpot and WordPress website design experience is a huge plus.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional web design projects.
