\ Overview
The Account Manager has day-to-day responsibility for ensuring projects run smoothly and deliver a great client experience. This role is focused on effective client communication, budget oversight, project tracking, reporting, quality assurance, and risk awareness. The Account Manager works closely with internal teams and clients to keep projects on track, aligned with strategy, and delivered with excellence.
\ Responsibilities
- Execute client project initiatives that support client goals and have measurable outcomes (approximately 32 billable hours per week).
- Manage marketing and web projects, timelines, paid media, and budgets with mixed resource teams. Break down work into clear, manageable tasks while maintaining an overall view of project objectives.
- Strong working knowledge of Hubspot, inbound marketing, content marketing, social media and paid media. Able to make strategic decisions on the work, provide direction for clients and team members, and plan priority marketing campaigns that hit KPIs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to define project scope, resource needs, and cost estimates.
- Oversee the day-to-day implementation of strategies through project management, information sharing, proofing, and communication with team members, clients, and partners.
- Review and proof work for accuracy and alignment with strategy prior to client delivery.
- Monitor budgets, scope, and profitability in partnership with the Account Strategist.
- Maintain strong client relationships, lead meetings, and keep project statuses up to date. Provide clear, proactive communication that balances client needs with agency profitability.
- Serve as the hub of communication for assigned projects—building positive relationships both with clients and internal team members.
- Produce realistic timelines with clearly flagged milestones, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Partner with Project Managers to manage team resources and traffic, ensuring balanced workloads and accurate forecasting.
- Develop a strong understanding of assigned accounts, including industry, competitors, client brand characteristics, definitions, and positioning.
- Be commercially aware—update status documents weekly and account for any budget variations before they occur.
- Comfortable reading reports, understanding data points, and able to put together a data story for presentation - avoiding reading numbers with no context.
\ Essential Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in project management, account management, or coordination in an agency role (agency experience preferred).
- Understanding of web, mobile, email, social, PR, and analytics/reporting platforms and concepts.
- Familiar with AI tools and trends.
- Experience with project management and time/budget tracking tools.
- Experience with Asana, Harvest, HubSpot, and WordPress preferred.
- Dependable, proactive, and able to manage projects with minimal prompting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Client-focused with the ability to build and grow relationships.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn.
- Ability to put together quarterly business reports, presentations, and when to pull in subject matter experts for support.
